Rule Review Plan

Pursuant to the Administrative Procedure Act, Texas Government Code 2001.039, Agency Review of Existing Rules. Senate Bill 178 (SB 178), 1.11(b) and (c) of Acts 1999, 76th Legislature, the following rule review plan is submitted for the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners:

Chapter 161, General Provisions, will be reviewed every four years beginning in October 2001.

Chapter 166, Physician Registration, will be reviewed every four years beginning in March 2001.

Chapter 171, Institutional Permits, will be reviewed every four years beginning in February 2001.

Chapter 173, Physician Profiles, will be reviewed every four years beginning in October 2001.

Chapter 175, Fees, Penalties and Applications, will be reviewed every four years beginning in October 2001.

Chapter 181, Contact Lens Prescriptions, will be reviewed every four years beginning in October 2001.

Chapter 197, Emergency Medical Service, will be reviewed every four years beginning in January 2002.

Chapter 162, Supervision of Medical School Students, will be reviewed every four years beginning in March 2002.

Chapter 164, Physician Advertising, will be reviewed every four years beginning in August 2002.

Chapter 169, Authority of Physicians to Supply Drugs, will be reviewed every four years beginning in August 2002.

Chapter 180, Rehabilitation Orders, will be reviewed every four years beginning in August 2002.

Chapter 188, Complaint Procedure Notification, will be reviewed every four years beginning in August 2002.

Chapter 191, District Review Committees, will be reviewed every four years beginning in August 2002.

Chapter 167, Reinstatement, will be reviewed every four years beginning in August 2002.

Chapter 200, Standards for Physicians Practicing Integrative and Complementary Medicine, will be reviewed every four years beginning in March 2002.

Chapter 168, Persons With Criminal Backgrounds, will be reviewed every four years beginning in August 2002.

Chapter 179, Investigation Files, will be reviewed every four years beginning in August 2002.

Chapter 187, Procedure, will be reviewed every four years beginning in October 2004.

Chapter 190, Disciplinary Guidelines, will be reviewed every four years beginning in August 2002.

Chapter 196, Voluntary Surrender of a Medical License, will be reviewed every four years beginning in August 2002.

Chapter 198, Unlicensed Practice, will be reviewed every four years beginning in August 2002.

Chapter 165, Medical Records, will be reviewed every four years beginning in August 2002.

Chapter 174, Telemedicine, will be reviewed every four years beginning in October 2004.

Chapter 177, Cert. of Non-Profit Health Organizations, will be reviewed every four years beginning in October 2004.

Chapter 183, Acupuncture, will be reviewed every four years beginning in August 2003.

Chapter 199, Public Information, will be reviewed every four years beginning in October 2004.

Chapter 163, Licensure will be reviewed every four years beginning in October 2002.

Chapter 170, Auth. of Phy. to Prescribe for the Treatment of Pain, will be reviewed every four years beginning in October 2004.

Chapter 185, Physician Assistants, will be reviewed every four years beginning in August 2003.

Chapter 186, Supervision of Physician Assistant Students, will be reviewed every four years beginning in October 2004.

Chapter 193, Standing Delegation Orders, will be reviewed every four years beginning in October 2004.

Chapter 194, Non-Certified Radiologic Technicians, will be reviewed every four years beginning in October 2004.

Chapter 192, Office-Based Anesthesia will be reviewed every four years beginning in October 2003.
