General Land Office
Rule Review Plan
In accordance with §2001.039, Government Code, the General Land Office submits the following plan for ongoing review of its rules. This plan replaces the revised plan filed on October 6, 2004, and published in the October 15, 2004, issue of the Texas Register (29 TexReg 9697).
For the following chapters of Title 31, Part 1, the agency's review will begin in April 2010 and will conclude by April 2011.
Chapter 3. General Provisions
Chapter 7. Surveying
Chapter 8. Gas Marketing Program
Chapter 13. Land Resources
Chapter 15. Coastal Area Planning
Chapter 17. Hearing Procedures for Administrative Penalties and Removal of Unauthorized or Dangerous Structures on State Land
Chapter 20. Natural Resources Damage Assessment
Chapter 25. Beach Cleaning and Maintenance Assistance Program
For the following chapters of Title 31, Part 1, the agency's review will begin in April 2011 and will conclude by April 2012.
Chapter 1. Executive Administration
Chapter 2. Rules of Practice and Procedure
Chapter 9. Exploration and Leasing of State Oil and Gas
Chapter 10. Exploration and Development of State Minerals Other Than Oil and Gas
Chapter 14. Relationship Between Agency and Private Organizations
Chapter 16. Coastal Protection
Chapter 19. Oil Spill Prevention and Response
Thereafter, the agency will initiate a new review of each chapter in this plan no later than the fourth anniversary of the date the chapter was readopted under the preceding rule review cycle. As a result of its review, the agency will readopt, readopt with amendments, or repeal rules following its assessment of whether the reasons for initially adopting the rules continue to exist.
