Opening Day, 82nd Legislature

Secretary of State Hope Andrade called the Texas House of Representatives to order for the 82nd Legislature. Below is an excerpt from her remarks to House members.

“The work ahead of you is significant; however, hard work is no stranger to this Chamber. Granted, there will be no short supply of difficult decisions. But if you grow weary, you need only to draw strength from the people of Texas, for through their vote, they have manifested their belief in your ability to accomplish great things."
