Austin, TX — Today, Texas Secretary of State Carlos Cascos reminds members of professional associations formed with the Secretary of State that annual statements are due June 30.

Professional associations are business entities that may be formed by: doctors of medicine, doctors of osteopathy, podiatrists, mental health professionals, optometrists, therapeutic optometrists, chiropractors, dentists, and veterinarians. Under Texas law, professional associations are required to file an annual statement regarding licensure that includes the names and addresses of the members, officers, and directors of the association.

“Just as these associations have unique licensing and filing requirements, they also have a unique annual statement deadline of June 30,” said Secretary Cascos. “This date is applicable for all professional associations regardless of when the association was formed.”

Failure to file an annual statement when due will result, after notice, in involuntary termination of the association. Professional associations are encouraged to file their annual statement online through SOSDirect. Annual statements can also be submitted by mail, fax or personal delivery using form 803 from the Texas Secretary of State’s office. That form can be found on this website (PDF).
